We work to live, we don’t live to work.

When I did medical check up at school 2 years ago, the doctor asked me, “Are you a working student?”
I replied, “Yes.” with a smile.
The doctor said “Isn’t hard for you?  And you are also too thin to work and study at the same time.”
I said “Of course it is.” then I laughed.
doc said, “Alright if you need someone to talk to we’re just here. ”
And he added something that really marks my mind…
“JUST REMEMBER… WE WORK TO LIVE, WE DON’T LIVE TO WORK. SO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF.”
And I admit that there is a time in my life that I just work and forget that the essence of working is for us to live.  Live life.  Enjoy life.  And I know that a lot of us are trap in state where we just go to work, go home, eat, watch a couple of TV shows, sleep, wake up, prepare for work, to go work, work and go home again to repeat the same old things…  We give ourselves some time to enjoy life as we are blessed to have it.  No matter how big or small salary maybe, we can still find a thing or two to be thankful in life.  So ARE YOU LIVING YOUR LIFE TODAY?

Fruit Tower

I know this tower might look familiar to you, because this is the tower I used for the wedding cake pops display.  lol  I’ve collected 12 different kinds of fruits as it is considered to bring good luck.  Instead of putting it in a basket or tray, I decided to put in my tower.  Pretty cute!

Happy New Year Everyone!

Wedding Cake Pops Display

Weddings are always special.  And what better way to make this event lasts with sweet memories than to add a bride and groom cake pop display.  And of course, I am proud to say that I made this.  From the cake pops to the tower, to the tags… I made them all.  I’m so happy that it turned out nice.  Here’s the closer picture.

Now aren’t those brides and grooms cute?

DIY Cupcake/Cake Pops Tower

Some people buy stuffs they need. And some make the stuffs themselves…  I’m one of those who makes  or does stuffs on my own.. Just like doing my own nail art.. Some people would just go to nail salons…  But I always think that if I can do it, I should do it myself.  And so I received an order of a 100pcs cake pops for a wedding.  I love weddings!  And I would never let my cake pops look like trash on a very lovely event.  So I decided to place them on a tower.  Looking at the net I realized it was too expensive and I won’t gain any income from this order if I buy such expensive towers… So I searched and studied and decided to make my own tower.

Here’s what you’ll be needing:

  • corrugated board
  • glue stick
  • glue
  • ruler
  • cutter
  • glue gun
  • gift wraps
  • ribbons

The first thing you’ll need to do is to outline and cut the plates of your tower.  What I did is to find circle stuffs in the house to make a perfect round shape, like the mouth of a bowl, a plate, a round tray… Things like that.

Using a glue stick, I put 3 layers of corrugated board to make it strong and sturdy.

Next stuff is the stand.  I put the measurements in the picture so I won’t have to discuss it.

When you cut it out, it will look like this.  Then cut the middle portion so you can insert them on each other.

You also have to cut out a cross on the plates.  And when you’re done making holes you can then assemble it. And it will look like this.

When you’re happy with that, just glue a gift wrap and put ribbons on the edges of the plate.

Try to make one yourself! :)
